Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the purposes for which it is used, and the circumstances in which it may be disclosed. By using the website, you consent to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive certain technical details whenever a page loads:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The referring website, when available
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • Device category and operating system
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, including popular pages and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how some features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route search requests to the selected outside provider
  • Maintain site availability and performance
  • Diagnose and correct technical problems
  • Measure which pages are useful or need improvement
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not compile, keep, or sell a database of individual criminal records. The resource identifies access routes maintained by Glenn County Sheriff's Office, Glenn Superior Court, the California Department of Justice, and the California Megan's Law Website. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs access to many agency records, while Penal Code section 11105 restricts dissemination of state repository criminal history. Visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or an outside criminal history. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Independent companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court systems, California agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms control. Review them before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted advertisements.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to:

  • Advertising networks that deliver advertisements
  • Search providers that process submitted queries
  • Government or law-enforcement entities responding to a valid legal order
  • Analytics providers measuring use and performance

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it promptly.

Your Data Rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, may give eligible California residents additional control over personal information. Depending on applicable law, you may:

  • Opt out of certain processing activities
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
  • Request access to information maintained about you

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised from time to time. A revision will be posted here and identified by a new effective date.
